Requirements

10+ years of experience in software industry and 2+ years managing engineering teams with a record of shipping high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment
Hands-on ability to experiment with new AI-based agents and assistants and create roadmaps to solve reliability challenges
Deep background in automation testing, manual testing, regression, and smoke testing
Passionate about navigating new AI-based development and testing frameworks
Strong communication skills to empower and coordinate test and verification efforts across the engineering organization, with comfort in regular meetings with US-based teams
Ability to create collaborative, empowering, supportive, and challenging team environments where engineers do their best work
Value empathetic and direct communication to give and receive feedback effectively and create cross-functional or cross-team alignment
Nice to Have
Led or participated in a QA transformation from legacy manual methods to automation

Responsibilities

Build and manage a diverse and inclusive team of AI Automation and QA engineers to build tools for triaging problems faster, supporting agentic AI workflows, and end-to-end testing platforms using AI capabilities, while creating a healthy team environment embodying Notion's values
Recruit, coach, and develop engineers, ensuring they receive regular feedback and make progress on personal and professional goals
Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure new versions of Notion ship reliably and high-priority bugs are found before users
Have a critical impact on reducing MTTD (mean time to detect) for incidents caused by code changes
Facilitate planning, including prioritization, sequencing, and staffing of work for the team
Maintain a high-quality bar for everything the team ships
Provide reliability guardrails for test suites to avoid flaking in CI/CD pipelines, offer resources to engineering for functional domain coverage, collaborate on new feature development for manual verification, and handle manual smoke tests for areas not covered by automation
