Requirements

Candidates should possess a background in Chemistry, Physics, Electronics, or Engineering, with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience servicing analytical equipment. Equivalent applications specialist or end user experience will also be considered as valuable. Knowledge of Mass Spectrometry, Liquid Chromatography, or Gas Chromatography is an advantage, but not essential. A valid UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel 5 days a week within the territory, Monday to Friday, with occasional nights away from home are required.

Responsibilities

As a Field Service Engineer, the individual will deliver service activities including installations, repairs, and maintenance services for Unity Lab Services, supporting Chromatography and Gas Mass Spectrometry instruments across Ireland and occasionally the UK, EU, and US for training. They will provide support to customers, build professional relationships, follow protocols and customer regulations, achieve high first-time fix rates and low mean time to repair, and contribute to overall service targets. The role also involves coordinating work schedules, managing company assets, reporting activities accurately, utilizing sales lead tools, and enabling customer success through partnerships with Thermo Fisher Scientific.
