Requirements

The candidate should have a passion for driving sustainability in the maritime industry and possess a blend of strategic thinking, technical insight, and commercial acumen. Experience in identifying and developing new business opportunities, leading research and innovation in low-carbon fuel solutions, and designing commercial offerings is required. Familiarity with marine regulations such as EU ETS, FuelEU Maritime, and IMO decarbonization measures is essential. Experience with alternative fuels like biofuels, LNG, methanol, ammonia, and hydrogen is preferred. Strong collaboration skills with internal teams including supply, sustainability, and trading are necessary. Experience in customer-facing project execution and maintaining CRM data is also required.

Responsibilities

The Energy Transition Executive will support the development and deployment of alternative fuels in the marine industry, helping shipping and cruise operators navigate the shift to low-carbon fuels and meet environmental regulations. Responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities, leading research in low-carbon fuel solutions, designing commercial offerings, and providing comparative fuel assessments to customers. The role involves creating tailored energy transition roadmaps, managing customer-facing decarbonization projects, coordinating execution across internal teams, tracking regulatory developments, and supporting business cases for infrastructure investments. The executive will also provide insights on maritime regulations, assist with emissions modeling and lifecycle carbon assessments, and contribute to sustainability documentation and certification processes.
