Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of Employee Relations experience (or advanced degree with 8+ years)
  • 7+ years of managerial experience
  • Onsite presence required (4 days a week), ideally in Minneapolis, MN, or other major campuses (Boston, MA; Lafayette, CO; Tempe, AZ; Memphis, TN; Santa Ana, CA; North Haven, CT) supporting manufacturing operations
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role (reasonable accommodations for disabilities)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted partner and advisor to employees and all levels of management on employee relations matters, aligned with company practices, policies, and local labor legislation
  • Lead proactive workplace initiatives and strategies
  • Conduct workplace investigations and internal reviews
  • Manage performance improvement and discipline processes, end-of-employment situations, restructuring, labor relations, crisis management, coaching, and conflict resolution
  • Leverage data and analytics to develop and execute employee and labor relations strategies to foster a positive work environment, address opportunities, and minimize risk
  • Play a key leadership role in restructuring initiatives for successful employee transitions
  • As a people manager, provide motivational, thought, and technical leadership with autonomy; make strategic decisions impacting financial performance, employees, and public image
  • Manage budget and P&L responsibilities; drive innovation by improving processes, systems, products, and services
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Regularly communicate and brief senior and executive leadership on operations and initiatives
  • Influence across functions to gain cooperation on operational matters
  • Direct and lead teams, determine supervisory relationships, create staffing plans, and have authority over hiring, firing, promotions, and rewards
