Requirements

  • Lives in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC): building modular emails, writing AMPscript/SSJS, shaping JSON for dynamic content & APIs, querying Data Extensions with SQL, wiring Journey Builder/Automation Studio
  • Required portfolio/code samples: 2–3 AMPscript snippets (personalization logic, DE lookups, error handling), 1 SSJS/WSProxy example (asset/DE ops or triggered send), 1 SQL example used in SFMC (dedupe + attribution), links or screenshots

Responsibilities

  • Build and launch emails in Content Builder using modular, reusable components (MJML/HTML, responsive CSS, design tokens)
  • Hand-code responsive HTML/CSS emails with cross-client compatibility (Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail)
  • Write AMPscript for personalization, dynamic content blocks, error handling, and data lookups (e.g., LookupOrderedRows, UpsertDE, FormatDate, BuildRowsetFromJSON)
  • Use SSJS & WSProxy for advanced logic, API interactions, and scale (create/update DEs, triggered sends, asset ops)
  • Build and maintain Journeys (entry criteria, pathing, decision splits, event-based triggers)
  • Write SQL against SFMC Data Views/DEs to power segments and QA
  • Integrate with systems via REST/SOAP, SFTP, and CloudPages endpoints; set up triggered sends/transactional definitions
  • QA end-to-end: device rendering (Litmus/Email on Acid), link & image checks, tracking parameters, and fallbacks
  • Document and templatize: maintain a living component library, usage docs, and runbooks for common tasks
  • Day-to-day output (first 90 days): Convert existing emails into a componentized library (headers, footers, card modules, offer blocks, legal patterns); Build a Journey + Automation for a transactional or lifecycle use case with full QA and rollback plan; Ship ad hoc promotional sends; Establish a QA checklist and seed-list process; add automated link/image checks where possible
