Requirements

  • 6 years of experience in electrical engineering on construction projects
  • BA or BS degree in a construction, architecture, or engineering related field
  • Professional Engineering license
  • Experience on projects larger than $1M in value
  • Experience with occupied building renovations, federal and/or commercial projects (preferred)
  • Fluent in project management principles and implementation
  • Ability to analyze project-related information and communicate status/issues in writing or verbally
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Ability to interpret contract terms and conditions
  • Working knowledge of CPM scheduling
  • Communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills and leadership skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and industry project software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, AutoCADD, Revit, Prolog)
  • Experience coordinating with architects and engineers to create design and construction documents
  • Experience reviewing design document submittals, cost and schedule estimates, collecting/preparing/reporting programmatic information
  • Communication, language, and software skills to utilize various programs for monitoring, updating, and producing work products
  • Ability to quickly understand and master local state/federal jurisdictional requirements

Responsibilities

  • Interfaces with clients to define project requirements
  • Reviews schedule, aligns project work plan and deadlines with requirements
  • Monitors on-site processes, procedures, and systems for compliance with construction drawings, security requirements, and code compliance
  • Coordinates and monitors completion of activities in all phases of the project cycle
  • Monitors and oversees project design or construction effort, including risk management, security, and safety compliance
  • Assists Contracting Officer and COR with acquisition planning, technical reviews, execution, and administration; collects requirements, prepares SOWs, conducts market research, develops sole source justifications
  • Assists government representative in reviewing documentation
  • Provides project management support, demonstrating compliance with directives, standards, and records management
  • Provides daily technical support to customers, manages electronic documents, serves as liaison for customer groups on projects
  • Provides expertise, monitors security issues, maintains coordinating relationships with government agency, clients, external partners (architect-engineers, construction contractors, etc.)
