Requirements

  • Fluency in English and ability to speak in public and to the media
  • Some knowledge of another language, specifically Spanish, would be ideal
  • At least five (5) years related experience leading or working in government affairs, public policy, campaigns, and/or community development in a government-related environment
  • A minimum of three (3) years working directly with municipal and/or state government, campaigns, or public policy in the Texas-Oklahoma region
  • Demonstrated experience in building partnerships with community and government stakeholders
  • Experience communicating directly with regulators, the media, and other key constituencies such as nonprofit and advocacy partners
  • Comfortable working in an environment with evolving goals, aptitude to overcome obstacles, and ambition to get things done
  • A multi-tasker comfortable working on multiple priorities at once while executing projects in a demanding environment
  • An analytical and strategic mindset
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of time in the Texas and Oklahoma region for in-person meetings

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with regional operations, campaigns, and policy leadership teams to develop and implement a long-term government relations strategy aligned with company priorities and key metrics for cities in the region
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with government leaders, businesses, non-profits, community organizations, the media, and other prospective partners to carry out the government relations and public affairs strategy
  • Participate in media interviews and speak at government and community forums on-site; organize, attend, and lead public on-site events
  • Collaborate with the comms and marketing teams on educational and safety initiatives, advertising and marketing campaigns, and local media activities
  • Analyze and inform regional leadership and company HQ on local regulatory or legislative matters; anticipate potential issues impacting operations in Texas and Oklahoma markets and work with internal teams to problem-solve
  • Work with cross-functional colleagues to create models and best practices for stakeholder engagement, developing work plans, delivering on goals, and overall team operational efficiency
  • Manage teams of consultants in multiple markets as needed, including establishing metrics for success and accountability
  • Represent Lime as the primary government and community engagement lead in Texas and Oklahoma, partnering with local operations to promote community presence and advance business goals
  • Advocate for policies that promote micromobility; preserve, expand, and develop new micromobility programs; grow fleet size across multiple vehicle types; and build trusting relationships with key stakeholders
