Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with an advanced degree being preferred. A minimum of 15 years of software engineering experience is required, focusing on scalable, loosely coupled services and low-latency data stores. Proven leadership experience of at least 10 years, including managing managers and large, cross-functional teams, is essential. Extensive experience with modern development frameworks, strong object-oriented programming principles, and architectural design for flexibility, performance, and scale are necessary. A strategic mindset, bias for action, excellent communication skills, and experience in a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment are also required. A passion for healthcare technology is a plus.

Responsibilities

The Director of Software Engineering will lead and grow multiple engineering teams, mentor engineers, and drive technical excellence. They will partner with Product, Design, Data, and Operations to translate product ideas into scalable solutions. Responsibilities include shaping architecture and infrastructure, championing engineering best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and connecting engineering work to business goals. The role involves defining the long-term tech vision, creating a collaborative environment, using data to track progress, and hiring and retaining a high-performing, inclusive team.
