Requirements

Candidates should possess over 10 years of compliance experience, with a minimum of 5 years dedicated to privacy, including 2-3 years in healthcare. A deep understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, 42 CFR Part 2, ISO/IEC 27701, state privacy laws, and emerging AI regulations in healthcare privacy is essential. Experience collaborating with information security teams on incident response and security compliance frameworks like SOC 2 and HITRUST is required, along with a Bachelor's degree in Health Law, Public Health, Computer Science, Health Information Management, or a related field. Demonstrated ability to lead and mature privacy programs and manage enterprise-wide privacy risk is also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Director of Privacy will lead and grow the company's privacy program, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other relevant laws, while also addressing risks from AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics. This role involves embedding privacy principles into new care delivery models, driving the maturity of the privacy program, overseeing AI-related risk and compliance, and leading privacy impact assessments. Responsibilities also include managing privacy incident and breach response, developing training and awareness initiatives, ensuring vendor privacy standards are met, and monitoring program performance to inform leadership and drive continuous improvement.
