Proven ability to solve complex organizational and bureaucratic challenges through stakeholder engagement and influence, experience in financial management including budget and capital resource oversight, and R&D proposal and contracting experience with diverse federal agencies are essential. U.S. citizenship is mandatory, and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is necessary. Preferred qualifications include experience in technology, aerospace and defense, or advanced manufacturing environments, along with exceptional communication and leadership skills.
The Director of Lab Operations will drive lab-wide operational efficiency in space, facilities, staffing, and resources, identifying and implementing workflow process improvements. This role involves leading cross-organizational coordination to align goals and set priorities, and overseeing process execution for internal proposals, reviews, and customer engagement activities. Responsibilities include supporting effective program execution through data-driven decision making and risk management, triaging and managing day-to-day programmatic and organizational demands, and organizing and hosting internal program reviews. The Director will track deliverable execution, support teams in addressing issues, and assist with proposal planning and execution to manage resource conflicts. Additionally, they will partner with finance teams to oversee budget forecasting, resource allocation, capital planning, and overhead expenditures, and represent MML for internal and external initiatives.
