Requirements

Candidates must have over 12 years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles managing distributed teams. A strong background in organizational transformation, platform modernization, and ERP/core services migrations is essential, along with proven expertise in AWS cloud services, event-driven systems, and microservices. Experience in transactional system design with high performance and reliability, hands-on database experience (relational and non-relational), and demonstrated success in building AI-enabled systems or automation frameworks are required. Strong knowledge of enterprise SaaS integration and enterprise data platforms is also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Director of Engineering will lead the modernization and migration of legacy systems to cloud-native architectures and microservices, defining and driving the architectural vision for scalable, event-driven distributed systems on AWS. They will oversee engineering teams building microservices, serverless applications, and databases, championing AI-first approaches for improved productivity and automation. Responsibilities include driving platform consolidation, leading and growing a distributed engineering organization, establishing a culture of excellence, and ensuring systems operate at scale with resiliency and performance. The role involves implementing world-class monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks, establishing practices for cost optimization and disaster recovery, leading integration strategy with SaaS products, and orchestrating large-scale ERP migrations and data consolidation initiatives. They will also drive adoption of enterprise integration tools, build real-time dashboards, partner with product and business teams, and anticipate industry trends to leverage emerging AI and cloud-native technologies.
