Resource Innovations (RI) is seeking a Director of Business Development and Sales to join our growing team in the Southeast. We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with a strong background in business development and sales to lead all business development and sales efforts for our Demand Side Management (DSM) capabilities. This includes energy efficiency, demand response and load flexibility, transportation electrification and electric vehicles, and solar and battery programs at electric and gas utilities in the Southeastern USA (Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansas).

Requirements

  • Strong background in business development and sales.
  • Experience in the utility industry, specifically with electric and gas utilities.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency, demand response, and Distributed Energy Resources (DER).
  • Ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Secure new revenue with Electric and Gas utilities in the Southeastern United States.
  • Achieve annual sales quota goals.
  • Increase company revenue through the expansion of energy efficiency (EE), demand response (DR), and other Distributed Energy Resources (DER) services and programs.
  • Collaborate with Delivery and Operations teams to ensure excellent customer service and drive new opportunities.
  • Develop and implement integrated business development and sales strategies, including strategic sales and account plans.
  • Serve as a Resource Innovations client advocate on regional teams.
  • Partner with business unit operations leaders, company subject matter experts, and national support service teams to develop customized solutions.
  • Actively identify client and market needs through collaboration with Sector Leads and Delivery Leaders.
  • Meet with all Investor-Owned Utilities and large Municipal Utilities within the assigned sales service territory annually.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance quality, creativity, sales and account management processes, and customer service.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key clients, strategic partners, and contractors.
  • Lead and support the proposal development process by providing insights on key market and client drivers.
  • Assist with the growth of Resource Innovations, including product developments and new program ideas.
  • Support project launch and ensure a smooth transition of clients to project implementation teams.
