Requirements

  • Significant principal investing experience in infrastructure and natural resources, with a general focus on Latin America
  • Experience managing multiple complex projects and delivering results in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to partner directly with management teams to develop and implement investment strategies, enhance portfolio value, and ensure strong financial performance
  • Post-close experience taking an active role with portfolio companies, including serving on boards of directors or as a board observer
  • Proficiency in identifying investment sectors, generating deal flow, and strengthening relationships across the financial and investment community
  • Skills in conducting market research, working with consultants, attending conferences and industry events, networking with management teams, and meeting with financial and industry participants
  • Required language skills: English (Spanish an asset)
  • Experience evaluating and executing transactions, as well as managing existing portfolio investments
  • Ability to oversee and mentor junior team members on transactions, asset management, and strategic projects

Responsibilities

  • Contributing to sector theses and deal-flow generation by developing coverage plans, leading thematic research, and cultivating advisor/partner relationships across Latin America
  • Sourcing, originating, and pursuing investment opportunities in natural resources; building and maintaining a network of partners, advisors, and industry participants in key sub-sectors
  • Planning, organizing, and leading the end-to-end deal process, including managing and coordinating external advisors to conduct due diligence on potential opportunities and synthesizing findings into decision materials
  • Leading the negotiation and execution of transaction documentation, financing workstreams, and closing deliverables, ensuring alignment with governance processes
  • Liaising with internal partners (Finance, Legal, Taxation, and Asset Mix & Risk) on transactions and asset management
  • Overseeing the development and use of financial models to evaluate and monitor investments
  • Conducting valuation analyses and assessing key value drivers, financial risks, and growth opportunities; leading the annual internal valuation
