Position Overview

CrowdStrike, a global leader in cybersecurity, is seeking a Director of Federal Sales Engineering to lead and grow a high-performing team of Sales Engineers supporting our U.S. Federal business. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for guiding technical pre-sales efforts, mentoring engineering talent, and driving solution alignment across a portfolio of federal customers.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Threat Intelligence teams to ensure our platform aligns with federal mission requirements, acquisition strategies, and compliance frameworks.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Sales Engineers supporting the U.S. Federal market.
  • Drive technical pre-sales efforts and solution alignment for federal customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Prior experience running Federal Sales Engineering teams.
  • CJIS clearance.
  • Strong technical aptitude.
  • Sales engineering background or 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experienced in endpoint or network security space (AV, EDR, incident response, forensics, SIEM, firewall, HIPS/IDS, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
  • Ability to articulate complex security problems to various audiences.
  • Strong self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Support, and Engineering; act as the technical bridge between CrowdStrike and prospects/customers for escalations/feedback.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present to a variety of external audiences, including C-level executives.
  • Extensive contacts in the information security field and strong references.
  • Ability to travel as required.

  • Experience with security products.
  • Experience with SaaS-based security offerings.
  • Experience with malware, threat intelligence, and/or sandbox analysis.
  • Experience with programming or scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
  • Experience with virtualization/VDI technologies.
  • Experience with large-scale cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.
  • Understanding of the OSI model.
  • Understanding of FedRAMP and Impact Level (IL) frameworks.
  • Certifications such as CEH, CISSP, OSCP, and SANS.
