Enterprise Account Executive - Payments

Position Overview

Dwolla is seeking a seasoned Enterprise Sales Hunter to join our fast-growing fintech startup. This high-impact, senior-level individual contributor role involves leading the charge on securing net-new enterprise clients by selling our API-first payments and open banking solutions directly to C-level decision-makers.

Important Note: This role is specifically for candidates with a successful track record selling payments products (ACH, RTP, Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Acquiring, Open Banking) to businesses and merchants. Experience selling to banks or financial institutions is not directly applicable; we seek deep front-line solution selling skills to businesses.

The Real Deal About This Role

You will be at the forefront of Dwolla’s growth, a key driver in hitting 7-figure revenue targets and opening up new markets. This is a true hunter role for individuals who thrive on building pipelines, navigating complex sales cycles, and landing significant wins.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, target, and manage high-potential enterprise prospects across various industries.
  • Own the full-cycle, net-new logo acquisition for mid-market & enterprise clients (companies with $50M+ in Estimated Annual Revenue).
  • Strategically partner with channel teams to expand reach and accelerate deal velocity.
  • Deliver compelling ROI narratives for Dwolla's payments platform and APIs.
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to surface insights from the field.
  • Maintain pipeline transparency and provide clear forecasting to leadership.

A Day in the Life

At Dwolla, you own your time and outcomes with no micromanagement. Your time is expected to break down roughly as follows:

  • 50%: Direct sales, active prospecting, and channel partner engagement.
  • 20%: Pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting.
  • 20%: Collaborating with Marketing, Product, and Customer Experience teams.
  • 10%: Market research, industry trendspotting, and continuous learning.

You’ll Thrive Here If You’re…

  • A Relationship Builder: You earn trust, are known for follow-through, and excel at cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Detail-Obsessed and Data-Driven: You leverage Salesforce for strategy and identifying opportunities, not just as a tracking tool.
  • An Autonomous Hunter: You are self-motivated, quota-driven, and energized by complex deals with significant revenue potential.
  • Adaptable and Tech-Forward: You embrace change, think creatively, and utilize modern tools (including AI) to maximize efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • 5+ years of outbound enterprise sales experience.
  • Proven success selling B2B SaaS or API-first payments solutions.
  • Consistent performance hitting or exceeding 7-figure quotas.
  • Strong understanding of payments flows (ACH, Same-Day ACH, RTP, FedNow, Visa Direct, Mastercard Move, Open-Banking APIs) and the fintech landscape.

Bonus Points For:

  • A degree in Business or a related field.
  • Power-user experience with Salesforce and sales analytics tools.
  • Experience shaping sales playbooks or contributing to Go-To-Market strategies.
  • Thriving in fast-paced environments where change is constant.

Salary Transparency & Travel Expectations

  • Anticipated Base Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000
  • Incentive Compensation: Unlimited incentive compensation package.
  • Stock Options: Eligibility for stock options.

Compensation is dependent on candidate-specific factors such as relevant work experience, education, licensure/certifications, and geographic location. The final salary will be determined at the time of offer.

  • Travel: Some travel (up to 50%) may be required for prospect meetings, key events, and industry conferences.
