Role Overview

At 1Password, we’re looking for a Director of Engineering to lead our billing and Managed Service Provider (MSP) initiatives—an opportunity to shape how customers and partners experience billing at scale. In this high-impact role, you’ll own the Channel Partnerships platform end-to-end, from partner onboarding and entitlement management to API integrations for MSPs, resellers, marketplaces, and distributors. You’ll work cross-functionally to design channel-specific billing pipelines, revenue share models, and invoicing dashboards, while driving innovation in pricing experiments, promotions, gift cards, trials, and MSP tools. Leveraging feature flagging, A/B testing, analytics pipelines, architecture standards, SLIs/SLOs, compliance controls, and automated deployments, you’ll ensure our systems are reliable, scalable, and built to deliver measurable business results.

Employment Type: FullTime

Location: This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience leading large teams of managers and software engineers (30+) delivering cross-functional projects. You should have a track record of building high-performing engineering teams from the ground up and mentoring leaders across both technical and management tracks.
  • A passion for aligning engineering initiatives with business goals. You'll guide teams working on mission-critical projects, from core product development to enterprise integrations and growth strategies, with a focus on scaling impactful solutions.
  • Provide strategic leadership for billing growth by defining a roadmap for pricing experiments, promotions, gift cards, trials and MSP tools; building and managing feature flag A B testing and analytics pipelines to optimize conversions; and enforcing architecture standards, SLIs SLOs, compliance controls and automated deployments for reliability and scale.
  • Own the Channel Partnerships platform end to end including partner onboarding, entitlement management and API integrations for MSPs, resellers, marketplaces and distributors; design channel specific billing pipelines, revenue share models and invoicing dashboards with Finance and GTM to drive partner led ARR.
  • Experience working with peers in engineering, product, design, and other departments to drive cross-functional alignment. You’ll help prioritize initiatives, resolve dependencies, and drive consensus across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • A strong foundation as a hands-on software engineer, with experience in building resilient, reliable software. Your background should enable you to contribute to technical discussions and empower your teams to make tough decisions on their own. Familiarity with enterprise-grade solutions like APIs, SDKs, SSO, multi-tenancy, and developer tools is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will need to drive discussions with both technical and non-technical audiences and serve as a spokesperson for the team.
  • A data-driven leader who
