Requirements

  • 8+ years working in data-focused roles including product research, business analytics, or data science
  • At least 2+ years managing technical teams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and partner cross-functionally with Product and Executive stakeholders
  • Hands-on analytical skills and comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment - willing to roll up your sleeves and lead by example
  • Proven track record of helping cross-functional teams identify and prioritize research opportunities that will deliver high-quality data-driven insights
  • Deep experience in business intelligence, product analytics, and applied data science; familiarity and comfort with basic machine learning methods
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex data into compelling, business-critical insights
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in dynamic, fast-paced startup environments, with a hands-on approach and a strong commitment to organizational success
  • A desire to be a part of the mission to improve the U.S. healthcare system
  • Willingness to work in the New York City office 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

Responsibilities

  • Own Garner’s business intelligence function, including defining, building, and maintaining core product and company-wide KPIs and dashboards
  • Lead, manage, and grow a team of data scientists and analysts (starting at 8), with analysts embedded across key product areas such as Care Navigation and Financial Incentives, plus a centralized Business Analytics group
  • Provide strategic leadership and thought partnership with the C-suite by synthesizing Garner’s KPIs and associated analytics to inform key decisions
  • Run Garner-wide Data Science & Analytics Guild; own standards, best practices, and data science community
  • Bring a consulting-style approach to structuring problems, generating insights, and recommending action
  • Develop and own Garner’s product and business analytics
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the executive team and help drive the analytics vision across the company
  • Shape how data is used to improve products and business operations to deliver better healthcare outcomes
