Requirements

Must be 18 years of age; must have a high school diploma or GED
One year of experience in the field of intellectual/developmental disabilities, or successful completion of training in the Missouri Quality Outcomes approved by the Division of DD regional office
Must have a reliable means of communication
Good verbal and written communication skills
Punctuality and excellent attendance are essential
Good computer skills
Must possess skills to read and understand written materials and write clearly and legibly
Must have a working air conditioner and heater in any vehicle used for client transportation
Maintain current certifications in CPR, Standard First Aid, and Med Aide if administering medications
Physical ability for sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms; walking and standing required only occasionally

Responsibilities

Support clients in their daily activities and personal goals as outlined in their Individual Support Plans
Accompany clients to medical appointments, recreational activities, and community resources
Provide training in personal hygiene, money management, safety, household skills, meal preparation, and medication management
Document client progress and maintain detailed records, including daily notes and receipts for purchases
Implement emergency and safety drills as specified in the Individual Safety Plan
Complete General Event Reports (GERs) and adhere to state guidelines
Attend meetings and specialized training as required
Complete competency-based Community Services orientation training
Perform other duties as assigned
