About the Role

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to accelerate our product engineering team. This role requires expertise and ownership to ensure consistent and confident deployment of value, supported by robust infrastructure. You will lead technical architecture and drive infrastructure solutions that enable product functionality and scalability. Partnering with the Product Engineering team, you will design and implement CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automation strategies, prioritizing security and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Architecture & Infrastructure Solutions

  • Partner with the Principal Product Engineer and CTO on architecture discussions to design scalable, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure aligned with product functionality.
  • Make technical decisions and propose infrastructure solutions to meet evolving product requirements.
  • Understand business and product team challenges to outline infrastructure and architecture solutions for effective achievement.
  • Evaluate existing architecture and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Partner with the data team to implement necessary infrastructure for existing data systems, ETL, and secure connectivity to external data sources.
  • Determine the appropriate use of IaaS vs. PaaS based on required outcomes and provide rationale.

CI/CD Pipeline Development

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment.
  • Continuously evaluate and identify opportunities to improve pipeline performance, reduce deployment time, and minimize errors.
  • Collaborate with other engineers on the product engineering team to identify code improvements that enhance platform reliability and resource utilization.

Infrastructure as Code & Automations

  • Design, develop, and manage infrastructure in a repeatable, deployable manner to automate provisioning, configuration, and management tasks.
  • Enhance infrastructure automation to improve consistency, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Containerization Strategies

  • Partner with the product engineering team to determine strategies and approaches for containerization.
  • Manage and optimize container orchestration strategies to support scalable, reliable application deployment as needed.

Security & Compliance

  • Integrate security best practices into all infrastructure solutions and CI/CD processes.
  • Ensure compliance with security requirements, especially for regulated industries like healthcare.

Collaboration & Technical Guidance

  • Work closely with the product engineering team to integrate DevOps practices and principles.
