Position Overview

Render is seeking an experienced Developer Relations Engineer to significantly increase the usage and word-of-mouth of Render among full-stack application developers. The goal is to grow an engaged and collaborative developer community around a platform that has attracted over 3 million developers, with more than 250,000 new developers signing up monthly. This role will help establish Render as the preferred developer platform for deploying applications and services to the cloud.

About Render

Render is dedicated to building a powerful and user-friendly cloud that simplifies hosting for every developer and team. Our platform supports a wide range of applications, from simple static sites to complex multi-service architectures. We offer the flexibility of traditional cloud providers without their associated complexity and maintenance challenges, allowing users to focus on product development rather than server management.

Our team is a diverse and talented group addressing universal challenges in software development. We prioritize rapid iteration while maintaining a strong focus on user experience, craft, and reliability, driving continuous improvement. Our organic, product-led growth has attracted over 3 million developers, with a rapid influx of new developers signing up each month. Customers trust Render for our reliable and scalable cloud, featuring enterprise-grade capabilities, fully managed datastores, and advanced security and compliance features.

In January 2025, Render achieved a significant milestone by raising $80 million in Series C financing, bringing our total funding to $157 million. This investment will accelerate our vision of making cloud infrastructure both powerful and intuitive, while adapting to the evolving needs of the AI era.

Applying to Render

We seek candidates who demonstrate high integrity, humility, and an insatiable drive to learn. Through reasoned discussions and continuous feedback, we aim for individual and collective improvement. We foster an environment of mutual trust and respect, empowering effective debate to achieve the best outcomes for our customers and team.

We especially encourage members of underrepresented groups in the tech community to apply. We understand that not all successful candidates will meet every listed requirement.

Our interview process is tailored to each role, and we value the candidate experience as highly as our customer experience. We aim for conversations that are thoughtful, illuminating, enjoyable, and respectful of your time.

Responsibilities

  • Build and share high-impact technical content: Create blog posts, videos, quickstart guides, and sample applications to help developers get started and grow on Render.
  • Develop and maintain resources: Create and update code examples, tutorials, and native environments that showcase best practices and reduce friction in the developer journey.
  • Represent Render at events: Speak at conferences, meetups, hackathons, and on podcasts, offering practical insights and advocating for the developer perspective.
  • Engage with the developer community: Directly interact with developers on platforms like GitHub, Discord, Reddit, and others to provide support, gather feedback, and foster discussion.
  • Identify and improve onboarding: Streamline onboarding flows for popular frameworks and languages such as Python, Node, and Typescript.
  • Launch and support community programs: Initiate and manage programs for developer champions, ambassadors, and early adopters who contribute to the Render ecosystem.
  • Serve as the voice of the developer: Act as an internal advocate for developers, collaborating with Product, Engineering, Support, and Marketing teams to influence roadmap decisions and enhance the end-to-end developer experience.
  • Plan and participate in events: Help organize and take part in Render-hosted technical events and community activations, including AMAs, workshops, and hackathons.
  • Track DevRel impact: Measure the effectiveness of Developer Relations efforts using adoption metrics, community engagement, and content performance to guide future investments.
