Requirements

Fluency in all aspects of research: recruiting processes; scheduling and logistics; protocol development; interviewing and moderating; analysis and framework development; video compilations; research deliverables
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and users
Ensure the work is grounded in a deep and contextual understanding of what matters to the people we’re designing for
Works with team leadership in defining the research track work; assists with clearly articulating research objectives and approaches; supports the team in executing primary and secondary research; develops research materials and key research deliverables
Ability to work with continual guidance with occasional independence, and full ownership of the research process may be required based on project needs

Responsibilities

Execute Design Research activities independently including research planning, fieldwork execution, analysis, synthesis, research story and deliverables
Define parameters and conduct recruitment ensuring a balanced sample
Design and execute research through the utilization of quantitative and qualitative methods such as surveys, diary studies, usability testing, interviews, heuristics, card sorting, etc
Analyze, interpret, and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data
Create research materials and essential deliverables, such as identifying user groups, constructing behavioral persona models, and compiling comprehensive research reports
Develop research insights and compelling business narratives alongside research leads
When necessary, lead certain client facing engagements: such as co-creation workshops or research read-out
Communicate research findings through actionable and tangible insights to inform the client's decision utilizing frameworks such as Customer Journeys, Blueprints, Design Principles etc
Support other teammates reinforce the established research best practices and processes
Provide clear guidance for team members to accurately and effectively navigate research artifacts to educate their design decisions
Facilitate communication across disciplines at the project level to create alignment and efficiencies
Self-identify career goals
Generate case studies, talks, trainings and materials to evangelize us
