Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day activities of department operations in absence of department manager or as directed, ensuring associates are trained, department is fully staffed, operating at company standards, and meeting goals and KPIs
Order and maintain inventory using inventory control procedures, including proper markdowns to minimize loss and ensure product freshness and quality
Review and validate received orders for amount, quality, count or weight, condition, and store product in appropriate areas
Manage team to complete stocking, production, and tasks ensuring product quality, production planning, accuracy, date-sensitive rotation, and proper handling of spoiled/damaged products
Maintain familiarity with all products in the department and throughout the store
Know ad items, special prices, coupon deals, and store sales/rewards programs
Communicate and execute weekly and period Flight Plan to company expectations and timelines
Follow company policies and timelines using required tools/software to manage scheduling per forecasted guidelines
Support department manager in implementing/maintaining work schedules, labor control, overtime control, and payroll expense
Implement Our Winning Recipe and model core values and competencies
Support department manager in department management including staffing, training, performance management, and career development of associates
Support department manager in developing and monitoring department goals and forecasts
Attend and participate in daily huddles, manager meetings, district, and company-level meetings
Maintain clean, attractive, well-stocked department using structure of the day guidelines and “Prime Time” standards
Ensure all food safety guidelines and requirements are followed throughout the store, taking immediate corrective action if not
