Dealer Development Manager

Position Overview

Ventrac, a division of The Toro Company, is seeking a motivated Dealer Development Manager to expand its dealership network and drive sales growth for the Ventrac product line. This role is crucial in identifying underserved markets and establishing new business representation to achieve company growth goals.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new Original Equipment Product (OPE) dealership representation within assigned areas.
  • Develop a pipeline of future OPE dealership opportunities and build strong relationships.
  • Guide new dealers through the initial sales process, educating them on selling Ventrac products.
  • Assist new dealers with the initial order process and product selection for optimal success.
  • Train new dealers on network tools necessary for their launch and ongoing success.
  • Develop strategies and action plans for Ventrac product sales within each dealership.
  • Occasionally attend and support dealership activities such as tradeshows and open-houses.
  • Serve as a field expert for the territory, providing insights on marketing, product needs, yearly sales programs, dealer development programs, and overall sales strategy to improve Ventrac Products Inc.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma.
  • 5+ years of professional sales/marketing experience in the turf, compact equipment, or dealership market.
  • Proven success in identifying and onboarding high-potential OPE dealerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly develop strong customer relationships.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Willingness and ability to trailer, load, unload, and demonstrate equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: professional, courteous, friendly, and helpful.
  • Excellent grammar, voice, and diction abilities.
  • Superb ability to read, understand, and interpret mechanical and operational information effectively.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including phone communication.
  • Must be able to obtain a Medical Examiners Certification.
  • Must be able to be insured by VPI’s auto insurance carrier.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Excellent computer and keyboarding skills (Word, Excel, Internet).
  • Strong process and organizational skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills for internal and external customers.

Travel

  • Approximately 50% annually, including overnights and some weekends.
