Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, technical or advanced university degree, or equivalent experience (advanced degree such as Master’s or Ph.D. strongly preferred)
  • Typically 10 to 15 years of relevant experience
  • Extensive experience in deal desk, sales operations, or commercial management within a technology or enterprise sales environment
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to assess deal profitability and risk
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and handle multiple priorities
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influencing others
  • Well-developed leadership skills, such as team building, conflict resolution, and management

Responsibilities

  • Lead the assessment and approval of deals, working closely with sales, finance, legal, and product teams to ensure deals are commercially viable and compliant
  • Ensure all deals adhere to HPE’s pricing, discounting, and contracting policies, and serve as the final authority for exceptions or escalations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including sales, legal, finance, and operations—to streamline deal processes and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
  • Develop and implement best practices for deal review, approval, and documentation, aiming to improve speed, accuracy, and compliance in deal execution
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with deals, including contractual, financial, and operational risks
  • Provide regular reporting on activities, deal pipeline, approval metrics, and trends to executive leadership and contribute to strategic decision-making
  • Assume responsibility for the successful implementation of business plans within the assigned area
  • Act as a key advisor to executive management, helping to shape the strategic direction of the business
