Requirements

Candidates must possess 8+ years of experience in machine learning or data science, with at least 5 years in a management capacity. Expertise in Python modeling and SQL data manipulation is required, along with a strong background in predictive modeling, analysis, problem-solving, data structures, and algorithm development. A Master's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field is necessary. Prior experience in Trust & Safety, Risk domains, Search, Advertising, or Experimentation is preferred, as is knowledge of entity extraction, text semantics, image recognition, recommender systems, ranking, LDA, and classification.

Responsibilities

The Data Science Manager will lead and scale the Data Science team, advising on business problems using data and partnering with product, engineering, and design leaders to influence roadmaps with data-driven insights and ML strategy. This role involves translating business challenges into ML-driven solutions, from exploration to production deployment, and collaborating with executive teams to define product requirements and enhance customer safety through models. Key responsibilities include identifying and executing opportunities in areas like search, personalization, crime risk modeling, and user reputation, contributing to end-to-end experimentation for product improvements, and leveraging machine learning technologies to solve complex business problems. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for developing and growing the data scientists on the team.
