  • Description: Join the Snowflake team and build the future of the AI Data Cloud. The Sales Engineering organization is seeking a Data Platform Architect to join the Applied Field Engineering team. This role focuses on providing leadership in designing and architecting the Snowflake Cloud Data Platform for enterprise customers, working directly with the sales team and channel partners. You will understand customer needs, strategize for sales cycles, deliver compelling demonstrations, support Proof of Concepts, and ultimately contribute to closing business. You’ll leverage your expertise across Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and Data Engineering workloads, comfortable in both business and technical contexts.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of architecture and data engineering experience within the Enterprise Data space.
  • Pre-Sales Experience: 5+ years of experience within a pre-sales environment.
  • Presenting Skills: Outstanding presenting skills to both technical and executive audiences (impromptu on a whiteboard or using presentations and demos).
  • Technical Expertise: Broad range of experience within large-scale Database and/or Data Warehouse technology, ETL, analytics, and cloud technologies (e.g., Data Lake, Data Mesh, Data Fabric).
  • Development Skills: Hands-on development experience with technologies such as SQL, Python, Pandas, Spark, PySpark, Hadoop, Hive, and other Big Data technologies.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to connect a customer’s specific business problems and Snowflake’s solutions.
  • Architecture Knowledge: Ability to do deep discovery of customer’s architecture framework and connect those with Snowflake Data Architecture.
  • Data Engineering Tools: Familiarity with real-time or near real-time use cases (e.g., CDC) and technologies (e.g., Kafka, Flink).
  • Pipeline Technologies: Deep understanding of integration services and tools for building ETL and ELT data pipelines and its orchestration technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Architecture Design: Apply multi-cloud data architecture expertise while presenting Snowflake technology and vision to executives and technical contributors at strategic prospects, customers, and partners.
  • Sales Support: Work hands-on with prospects and customers to demonstrate and communicate the value of Snowflake technology throughout the sales cycle (demo to proof of concept to design and implementation).
  • Market Understanding: Immerse yourself in the ever-evolving industry, maintaining a deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and vendors and how to position Snowflake in relation to them.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to continuously improve Snowflake’s products and marketing.
  • Customer Engagement: Engage with customers to understand their needs and architect solutions leveraging Snowflake's capabilities.
