Candidates should have 6+ years of experience in data engineering or platform engineering roles, with demonstrated success in building systems for analytical, operational, or ML use cases. Experience modernizing legacy data workflows or leading platform transitions is required, along with expertise in batched and streaming data workloads feeding federated data systems. Proficiency in data orchestration tools like Dagster, schema evolution, cost optimization, SQL, and Python is necessary. A working knowledge of infrastructure-as-code and containerized deployment is also required, along with experience coaching less experienced engineers.
The Data Engineer III will design and implement reliable, scalable data pipelines and storage solutions across batch, near-real-time, and streaming environments, championing data quality, observability, and cost optimization. They will advance the company's Hybrid Data Platform strategy, shape data transformation, cataloging, and consumption, and identify tooling to accelerate AI/ML use cases. The role involves understanding business priorities to make intentional tradeoffs, collaborating with Product, Data Management, and Engineering peers, and championing high standards in data modeling, pipeline testing, observability, and code quality.
