Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required, along with a minimum of 6 years of experience in data engineering or analytics. Candidates must have experience developing solutions for cloud computing services, cloud security, and infrastructure on AWS and/or Azure. Preferred qualifications include experience with cloud services like SageMaker, EC2, S3, EMR, Redshift, and IAM, as well as developing and maintaining data warehouses in big data solutions. Expertise in SQL and data analysis, coupled with strong hands-on experience in Python and/or Scala, is essential. Familiarity with big data tools such as Spark and Hive, along with expertise in ETL, reporting tools, data governance, and data warehousing, is also highly valued. A strong understanding of industry trends in data acquisition, processing, engineering, and management is necessary, as are excellent people skills, curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

The Sr. Data/Cloud Engineer will design, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture and pipelines for analyzing large datasets and identifying patterns. Responsibilities include solving complex data problems to deliver insights, managing data sources, organizing data, and creating data assets using identified tools. The role also involves designing and implementing cloud security and access control mechanisms, interacting with other technology teams for smooth deployments, and advising other data professionals on data standards and practices. Additionally, the engineer will foster a culture of sharing and reuse, promote design for scale, stability, and operational efficiency, and codify best practices for future reuse.
