Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience, and a minimum of 2 years of experience building scalable, high-performance, cloud-based data lake or warehouse solutions. Strong experience with SQL and programming languages, particularly Python and Scala, is required, along with familiarity with version control tools like GitHub and CI/CD processes. Solid understanding of distributed computing frameworks such as Apache Spark or Hadoop is also necessary, as is hands-on experience building pipelines in Databricks and proficiency with AWS cloud infrastructure and security best practices. Knowledge of healthcare data standards like CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, DRG, MS-DRG, APR-DRG, and understanding of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform are preferred.

Responsibilities

The Data Engineer II will design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines to ingest and transform data from diverse source systems, develop APIs and data microservices for secure data sharing, implement data quality checks and monitoring, and collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product managers to understand data needs and deliver appropriate solutions. They will apply agile principles to drive automation and iteration across teams, and contribute to building infrastructure and processes from the ground up, while also thriving in a fast-paced environment with excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
