Requirements

Candidates must have at least 1-2 years of experience using Python in a production environment, hands-on experience or familiarity with Airflow (DAGs, operators, scheduling), experience working with Docker (or other OCI-compatible container framework), proficiency in Git and standard version control workflows, experience building and consuming RESTful APIs, and comfort working with data formats like CSV, JSON, and understanding how data flows across systems. Strong communication skills and an analytical mindset are also required.

Responsibilities

The Data Engineer will join an established and collaborative data team as an individual contributor, helping to build and maintain scalable, reusable pipelines to process large genealogy data sets. They will analyze source data, collaborate with stakeholders, design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs, write production-ready code, troubleshoot issues, and provide support to internal teams. Additionally, they will contribute to the design and continuous improvement of tools, workflows, and infrastructure, and work with a variety of technologies and cloud services.
