Position Overview

Aescape is seeking a Data Analyst to be the founding member of our data team. This role is crucial for working directly with stakeholders to run experiments and help teams make critical business decisions using data. While a working stack and tools are in place, you will be responsible for defining our analytics strategy, investigating new AI tools and capabilities, and ensuring our metrics accurately reflect business performance. This role is based on-site in NYC at our HQ.

Responsibilities

As a Data Analyst at Aescape, you will:

• Serve as Aescape’s data expert, assisting teams across the company in deepening their understanding of metrics and analytics, and translating business questions into actionable data.
• Define, operate, and scale our data infrastructure, establishing golden tables and metrics, and ensuring pipeline health, collaborating with external vendors as needed.
• Partner with product and marketing teams to design, plan, and execute experiments, analyzing results to drive strategic decisions.
• Build automated reporting systems and self-service analytics components for common business queries, presenting findings to leadership when required.
• Own KPI definition and reporting, identifying trends and anomalies across the business.
• Lead customer satisfaction measurement initiatives in collaboration with product and engineering teams.
• Create our AI/analytics roadmap and continuously optimize our data stack for scale.

Requirements

• Advanced SQL expertise and a proven ability to transform data, including messy or unstructured data, into reliable, scalable systems.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate business requests into technical specifications, and to push back appropriately.
• A track record of building automated analytics solutions and reducing manual processes.
• Experience with experimentation frameworks, A/B testing, and statistical analysis.
• Strong communication skills to present complex data insights to non-technical audiences.
• The ability to diagnose data issues quickly and a drive for continuous improvement and automation.
• Comfort working and making decisions with incomplete information.

Nice To Have

• Experience with Python & Pandas for data analysis.
• Experience building a data warehouse & analytics stack from the ground up.
• Expertise in statistical analysis and predictive modeling.
