Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment, training, and ongoing development of a high-performing culinary team
  • Lead, coach, and inspire associates to exceed performance expectations and uphold positive team culture
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching and feedback; communicate performance issues to General Manager/Store Manager
  • Represent Sur La Table’s brand by creating memorable, educational customer experiences
  • Ensure outstanding cooking class experiences by following recipes/game plans and holding employees accountable
  • Work with store leadership to increase foot traffic and engagement through cooking classes and private events
  • Lead a customer-focused, Guest Obsessed culture in kitchen and retail areas
  • Assist in driving sales growth through culinary and retail strategies
  • Analyze daily performance metrics and optimize store performance
  • Meet or exceed culinary program goals (e.g., second-class sign-ups, retail culinary sales, guest feedback)
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health codes, sanitation, and alcohol regulations
  • Properly handle tools, ingredients, kitchen equipment for safe, efficient environment
  • Maintain accurate inventory, minimize shrink, control expenses
  • Ensure store safety, cleanliness, and address maintenance needs
