About the Opportunity

Jerry.ai is seeking an exceptional Controller to lead our accounting function during a critical growth phase. Having achieved profitability in early 2024, we are now focused on expanding from 5 million to 50 million customers and building a $10 billion business.

As Controller, you will be instrumental in this transformation, leading our accounting operations, building scalable systems, ensuring financial integrity, and guiding us towards IPO readiness. You will collaborate across departments, maintaining agility and an execution-focused approach in a fast-paced environment. You will also be a key member of the finance leadership team, responsible for accounting policy, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit readiness. You will work alongside a highly experienced team with deep expertise in investment banking, hedge funds, M&A, FP&A, controllership, and Big 4 audit.

Jerry.ai is building the first super app to make car ownership affordable and accessible, covering insurance, buy/sell, registration, loans, safety, repairs, parking, and more within a $2 trillion U.S. market. Since our founding in 2019 with insurance, we have expanded to offer loan refinancing, driving insights, a repair marketplace, car diagnostics, and a GenAI-powered chatbot & voicebot. We have acquired over 5 million customers, raised $240 million in funding, achieved 60X revenue growth, and grown our team to 225 employees across 6 countries.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Scale Accounting Function: Own and scale the accounting function by building the team, processes, systems, and policies necessary to support hypergrowth and long-term success.
• Financial Reporting: Lead all aspects of the monthly close, consolidation, and external reporting, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and readiness for SEC standards.
• IPO Readiness: Drive IPO readiness initiatives, including preparing for PCAOB audit standards and implementing public company financial controls and policies.
• External Relationships: Manage relationships with auditors and other external advisors.
• Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with Finance, Legal, Data, Engineering, Operations, and Product teams to align on business drivers and reporting outcomes.
• Culture: Foster a culture of truth-seeking, urgency, and passion for excellence.

Ideal Profile

• Qualifications: CPA, Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and Big 4 experience are required.
• Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience, including senior-level controllership or corporate accounting roles.
• IPO Experience: Proven experience preparing a company for IPO or operating as a public company controller/senior accounting leader.
• Technical Skills:
  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and internal control frameworks.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • System savvy: experience with NetSuite or similar ERP, and familiarity with financial automation tools.
  • Tech-forward mindset: experience and desire to utilize AI and the latest technologies to build scalable operations is a plus.
