Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and be admitted to practice law in the United States, with 3-5 years of relevant experience (PQE). Training and post-qualification experience at a high-caliber law firm is preferred, and in-house commercial legal experience at an energy company, oil major, trading house, or shipping/transport company is beneficial.
The Contracts Counsel will provide legal advice and support on all aspects of commodity and energy trading, specifically focusing on US natural gas trading, draft, review, and negotiate trading agreements such as ISDAs, NAESBs, and EFETs, and oil trading, transportation, and storage contracts, assist in developing compliance policies and procedures, support dispute resolution and litigation, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations.
