Consulting Manager - Professional Services

Position Overview

Join the Snowflake team as a Consulting Manager and be a key player in our Professional Services organization. In this role, you will leverage your deep technical expertise and leadership skills to guide customers through their data platform modernization journey, specifically their migration to Snowflake. You will be instrumental in driving successful customer outcomes and expanding Snowflake's professional services offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical expert on all aspects of Snowflake.
  • Guide customers through the planning and execution of their migration to Snowflake.
  • Collaborate with Professional Services, Practice Directors, and Sales Account Teams on sales pursuits, including scoping engagements, pricing services, and creating Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Oversee successful Professional Services engagements with Service Delivery Managers and assist with issue escalation.
  • Develop methodologies to enhance Professional Services offerings and the ability to deliver complex engagements.
  • Create strategies and build partnerships with technology vendors and system integrators to accelerate customer onboarding onto Snowflake.
  • Manage and develop internal accelerators and reusable Professional Services collateral and assets.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and vendors, and position Snowflake effectively.
  • Provide guidance on resolving customer-specific technical challenges.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage Snowflake Solutions Architects and Consultants, fostering their professional development.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to continuously improve Snowflake's offerings.
  • Present methodologies and capabilities to internal teams, external partners, and customers.
  • Engage with System Integrators and Technology Vendors on project pursuits.
  • Lead recruiting efforts for Solutions Architects.
  • Provide delivery quality oversight and guidance for migration projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a post-sales technical role working with customers.
  • Minimum 3 years of people leadership and management experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience selling professional services, including scoping large projects and writing SOWs.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with large-scale database technologies (e.g., Oracle, Teradata, Netezza, Greenplum).
  • Experience with non-relational platforms and tools for large-scale data processing (e.g., Hadoop, HBase).
  • Familiarity and experience with common data integration and data transformation tools (e.g., Informatica, DataStage, Talend, Matillion).
  • Familiarity and experience with common BI and data exploration tools (e.g., Microstrategy, Business Objects, Tableau).
  • Experience and understanding of large-scale Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platforms (e.g., Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience scoping multiple data platform implementations and addressing the challenges of migrating and integrating new platforms.
  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Outstanding presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences.
  • Strong understanding of the complete data analytics stack and workflow, from ETL to data platform design to BI and analytics tools.
  • Strong knowledge in data architecture, data warehouses, and data engineering.
  • Experience and track record of success selling data and/or analytics software to enterprise customers, including identifying key stakeholders, winning value propositions, and compelling events.
  • Ability and flexibility for occasional travel to work with customers/prospects.
