Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction, Architecture, Engineering, Planning, or a closely related field
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of responsible experience as an owner’s representative, project facilitator, construction manager, or design and construction contracting experience
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to effectively facilitate meetings
  • Experience working in dynamic environments around guest or facility activity
  • Knowledge of principles, techniques, materials, and equipment used in building construction
  • Coordination of projects for Orange County Departments and Divisions
  • Development of project planning, proposals, cost estimates, budgets, timelines, and schedules
  • Facilitation of the design phase, including scope development, consultant management, and end-user reviews
  • Management and monitoring of construction progress
  • Preparation of construction observation reports

Responsibilities

  • Manage the activities of construction projects, including planning, development, implementation, and successful completion
  • Work with existing workforce, equipment, and contractors efficiently
  • Demonstrate knowledge of building construction principles
  • Coordinate projects for Orange County Departments and Divisions from design to delivery
  • Assist in the development of project planning, proposals, cost estimates, budgets, timelines, and schedules
  • Facilitate the design phase with the development of scope, managing consultants and end users, and providing effective and proficient reviews of project documentation
  • Manage and monitor progress of construction services
  • Prepare construction observation reports relating to all aspects of construction project activities
  • Ensure that projects relative to new facilities and renovations of existing buildings of the County Government are completed as contracted and as desired
