Position Overview

  • Location Type: Onsite

  • Team Description: The computer vision team focuses on creating cutting-edge algorithms and software for automated image and video analysis, serving government agencies, commercial organizations, and academic institutions. The team utilizes deep learning and open-source platforms like VIAME and Telesculptor.

About the Projects: Employees have opportunities to collaborate with customers, visit sites, and participate in live demonstrations. Much of the work involves applying AI to real-world problems, particularly in national security. Research and Development Engineers receive support for publishing novel work. Kitware partners with agencies like DARPA, IARPA, AFRL, and the Intelligence Community on projects including prime contracts, SBIRs, and STTRs, as well as providing commercial services. The company utilizes an open-source business model.

In this position, you will:

  • Develop robust solutions in object-based detection, feature detection, motion pattern learning, and anomaly detection.
  • Receive support and encouragement for participation in national and international conferences (e.g., CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, WACV, 3DV).
  • Be encouraged to seek funding to grow and develop your own research areas.

Requirements

  • Education: PhD in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience: Strong publication record in top-tier research publications and conferences
  • Skills: Innovative problem-solving skills, experience collaborating with others, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Clearance: Candidates must be US Citizens. TS clearance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop robust solutions in object-based detection, feature detection, motion pattern learning, and anomaly detection.
  • Contribute to research and development efforts within the computer vision team.
  • Collaborate with customers and partners on various projects.
