Understanding of cyber threat actors and their methods
Ability to assess and emulate a wide variety of attacks
Experience in developing cyber intrusion detection and prevention methodologies
Familiarity with serial data networks and embedded OT devices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work with a team of Detection Engineers and other technical teams
Experience with data analysis and interpretation
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to translate technical concepts into actionable technical specifics

Responsibilities

Understand how cyber threat actors could attack operational technology (OT) systems
Develop cyber intrusion detection and prevention methodologies
Identify and develop ways to detect anomalies in OT systems
Assess and emulate a wide variety of attacks
Translate attack techniques into technical detections that can be built into the Shift5 product
Work with vulnerability researchers and cyber intel analysts to understand current and future threats
Develop ways to detect anomalies in serial protocols and embedded systems
Describe threats in code
Collaborate with software developers, data analysts, and customers to develop better defenses
Assist in developing frameworks and testbeds to ensure the efficacy of detections
Think like a malicious attacker to help defend critical national infrastructure, weapons platforms, and logistics
