Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in community development, project management, growth, operations, or product consulting with a proven track record of community-led projects that have driven business impact. A deep understanding of Australian culture, including current events, politics, customs, traditions, language, topics of interest, and taboos, is essential. A nuanced comprehension of the digital landscape and its cultural intricacies, including internet culture specific to Australia and an appreciation for diverse cultural facets, is also required. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across internal teams, local users, moderators, partners, and content creators are necessary, along with a results-obsessed mindset demonstrating outstanding execution and high attention to detail. A deep interest in developing and driving projects, framing issues, seeking solutions, testing hypotheses, and iterating on process improvements is also expected.
The Community Specialist will be responsible for gaining a deep understanding of the Australian market to identify user and local moderator challenges and market opportunities. They will iterate, innovate, and scale the consumer growth playbook by recognizing new opportunities, suggesting bold ideas and programs, and persuading internal teams to align on new plans. This role involves building strategic plans to cultivate, recruit, educate, and grow a local community of moderators, and implementing a conversion funnel to onboard power users and external creators into active moderators. The specialist will communicate quantitative and qualitative insights to optimize the international consumer growth playbook, analyze data, set KPIs, and execute impactful community initiatives to uncover insights that influence the local team's direction. They will also work cross-functionally with Product, Community, Engineering, Marketing, Safety, and Business Development teams.
