Candidates should possess at least 5 years of experience in communications, social media, and graphic design, with demonstrated experience in digital marketing, social media management, and content creation. Proficiency in Google Docs, MailChimp, WordPress, Canva (or Adobe Creative Suite), Facebook, Instagram, YouTube (Meta Business Suite, YouTube Studio), and video editing tools such as CapCut, Canva, Premiere, or similar is required. Familiarity with Episcopal or Anglican Church liturgy, values, and mission is a strong plus. Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills are also necessary, alongside strong project management and organizational abilities.
The Communications Manager will design and produce weekly worship bulletins in Google Docs, create and distribute weekly e-newsletters via MailChimp, write engaging and pastoral copy for bulletins, emails, and website, develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy, build and manage a social media content calendar, create engaging content including photos, stories, and spiritual reflections, clip and caption sermon videos and livestream content, respond to comments and messages, design graphics for social media, website, e-news, slides, posters, and other digital/print media, create a visually inspiring Annual Report, maintain and update the church’s WordPress website, optimize pages for search engine visibility, track site performance and analytics, design and place ads for special services and events, oversee the Google Ad Grant, manage church-wide and targeted text message campaigns using Gloo, track metrics for email campaigns, social media engagement, and website traffic, produce regular reports and recommendations, lead or support communications for special events and initiatives, coordinate event promotion and communications, and participate in church life and planning.
