Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or automated production management, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a team leader in the field of automated commissioning systems
  • Experienced with PLC (Allen Bradley), Robot (ABB, Fanuc), Industrial networking (Ethernet/IP), or Operator interface (Panel View Plus)
  • Successful experience in reading electrical plans
  • Experience in troubleshooting automated systems
  • Ability to manage and oversee multiple tasks, document procedures, and provide leadership and guidance to resolve problems without escalating
  • Self-starter ready to take on increased responsibility in a fast-paced role
  • Willingness to learn a deeper level of knowledge of all aspects of a complex system
  • Excellent team player, able to work professionally with members of various engineering teams
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing startup environment
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive and/or fly to client locations (travel up to 75%)
  • Ability to own a credit card and manage expenses personally for bi-weekly reimbursement

Responsibilities

  • Manage Team Leads and direct day-to-day commissioning of robotic cells
  • Plan and maintain schedule, planning, workforce, and coordinate with installation, engineering, and other commissioning site managers
  • Coordinate hands-off and pre-commissioning validation with installation, schedule commissioning team members and contractors
  • Review performances, maintain site status KPIs, and prepare reporting
  • Partner with cross-functional business leaders to prep, plan, and launch site commissioning schedules
  • Manage and build out budgets for each site and prepare reporting on progress of commissioning and testing relative to budget targets and goals
  • Manage and lead multiple sites at the commissioning stage, ensuring proper resource allocation to meet target timelines and budgets
  • Present reports on progress of commissioning and testing to site support team, cross-functional leadership within Symbotic, and customers
  • Develop, coach, and mentor Site Team Leaders and their direct reports
  • Lead daily scrum meetings for the operational team and participate in site scrum meetings for team leaders and site managers
  • Participate in initiatives for continuous production improvement, standardization, and improvement of installation and start-up processes, ensuring compliance with health and safety policies
  • Other duties as assigned
