  • Willing to sign and abide by Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines
  • Comply with biosecurity protocols: showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering facility; no jewelry except medical ID; body piercings covered
  • Physically able to: regularly lift and control hens/roosters up to 16 pounds, carry catch frames up to 10 pounds for 300 feet; stand majority of shift on concrete floor; repetitive use of arms/hands up to 8 hours/day; walk, sit, balance, bend, stoop; close/distance/color/peripheral vision, depth perception, adjust focus

Responsibilities

  • Catch rooster and control for milking per animal welfare guidelines (30%)
  • Stimulate male and collect semen into vial, visually observe for viability (30%)
  • Catch hen, invert, and present oviduct for insemination per animal welfare guidelines (30%)
  • Other duties as assigned (10%): move birds between houses, lab sample swabs, operate high pressure/regular water hoses, maintain foot pans/hand sanitizer, maintain equipment (check fluid levels, filters, tire pressure, clean/disinfect), maintain clean/organized work area
