Openly is seeking a visionary Claims Director to design, implement, and lead our new Auto Casualty Claims Team. The mission is to redefine the handling of complex casualty claims, pushing the boundaries of efficiency, fairness, and policyholder satisfaction within the industry.

Strategic Responsibility

Accountable for optimizing the entire Auto Casualty claims handling process. This involves strategic integration of specialized vendors, leveraging advanced technology, developing innovative and legally sound process flows, ensuring unwavering regulatory compliance, and establishing a top-tier internal desk adjustment team expert in bodily injury. This role is responsible for building this critical claims process infrastructure from its inception.

Core Responsibilities

• Partner strategically with the Claims Director, Auto Physical Damage on cross-functional initiatives and shared vendor relationships to optimize overall claims operations.
• Design the foundational structure and processes for all Auto and/or Casualty claims.
• Contribute to the development of the operational strategy and vision for the Openly Claims organization.
• Manage claim outcomes to meet operational metric targets, including loss dollars, loss adjustment expenses, claim average cycle time, customer experience, employee experience, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Vendor Management and Technology Teams to evaluate and select vendor partners.
• Establish and implement segmentation rules for claim routing to optimize the use of technology, personnel, and vendors.
• Partner with the Data Strategy team to design key operational metrics and automated reporting for enhanced transparency and data-driven decision-making.
• Provide policy and claims feedback in collaboration with the Insurance Product team.
• Represent Openly at claims industry events and forums.
• Cultivate a strong culture of teamwork and shared accountability within the Casualty claims team and across the broader organization, championing effective communication and problem-solving with all internal and external partners.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements.
