Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor degree and be admitted to practice law in at least one state, with a strong preference for experience in insurance law and claims handling. Applicants must have at least 7 years of experience in insurance law, including litigation and coverage analysis, and demonstrate a thorough understanding of insurance principles and practices.
The Associate General Counsel, Claims will conduct legal research, draft legal opinions, provide legal advice to the Claims Team, examine records, and investigate claims-related matters. They will attend claim review meetings, depositions, and mediations, manage outside counsel, draft and review product forms, participate in negotiations, and provide leadership updates on major company projects. Additionally, they will apply legal principles, evaluate legal techniques, and identify risks to mitigate potential exposures, serving as an advisor on coverage assignments and other claims matters.
