Requirements

Candidates must have a High School Diploma/GED, with a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Aviation Management, Public or Government Affairs, or a related field preferred. An A&P certified Aviation Maintenance Technician certification is required. A minimum of ten years of significant maintenance and engineering management experience in a Title 14 CFR, Part 121 operation is necessary, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity maintaining the same category and class of aircraft as Allegiant operates. A minimum of one year of experience as a Maintenance Inspector as per 14 CFR 119.67 is also required. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US and pass a criminal background check. Outstanding written and oral communication skills, proven effectiveness in managing/mentoring others, integrity/ethics beyond reproach, knowledge of financial management, ability to multi-task with attention to detail, experience with Maintenance Systems, a proven track record of successful process development and implementation, expert knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance as it relates to Title 14 CFR, Part 121 Operations, expert knowledge of Maintenance Reporting Requirements, excellent understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations, and a solid understanding of Aircraft Record Keeping Requirements are all essential.

Responsibilities

The Chief Inspector / Director of Quality Control, Regulatory Compliance & Records is responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining an organization that ensures maintenance is performed to the highest possible degree of quality using efficient inspection and engineering methods. They ensure maintenance is properly accomplished regardless of scheduling, potential loss of revenue, or competitive pressures, and guarantee compliance with Airworthiness Directives and Federal Aviation Administration Regulations. This role ensures that both financial and human resources are available to accomplish the mission and ensure compliance. The Chief Inspector holds Airworthiness Release Authority (ARA) and Required Inspection Items (RII) authorization, with overall authority and responsibility over RII functions, other maintenance, preventative maintenance, and alteration functions including AD compliance. Responsibilities also include building a cohesive, highly motivated team, reviewing projects and budgets, managing schedules, preparing status reports, and continuously leading efforts to cultivate a strong culture of safety across the organization.
