Requirements

  • Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - Licensing Board in the state of practice within 120 Days
  • High School or GED Equivalent (preferred)
  • Less than 1 year Related experience or training (preferred)
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Ability to work specified hours (Part time, Afternoon Shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm, 4:00pm-10:30pm, 6:00pm; 24hrs/2wks)

Responsibilities

  • Provides assistance to residents with their activities of daily living
  • Performs routine duties and non-routine duties as directed by nursing staff (e.g., assisting with bathing, dressing, shaving, oral hygiene, bed making, transfers, repositioning, toileting, serving/collecting food trays, feeding, answering call lights, maintaining clean environment, transporting patients, assisting with ambulation, orienting/reorienting residents)
  • Performs blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration and weight measurements; documents concise and factual information on appropriate forms
  • Performs or assists residents in specific medical care activities per policy/procedure (e.g., restorative exercises, collecting specimens, assessing/documenting cares); provides feedback to nursing staff on patient status changes, pain management, and concerns
  • Assists with restocking supplies and maintaining appropriate work environment (including cleaning procedures)
  • Participates in providing emotional, educational and spiritual support for families
  • Complies with all aspects of resident rights (including confidentiality and privacy); reports allegations of resident abuse or misappropriation of property
  • Follows established policies/procedures for fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster plan, universal precautions, infection control, hazardous/chemical communication; maintains clean and safe environment for residents, families, and staff
