Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in cash application research, reconciliation, and billing, along with experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Intermediate MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables, are required, as is a solid understanding of accounting principles. The ability to communicate professionally, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a team is essential. Math aptitude and the ability to work accurately with numbers are also necessary.
The Cash Specialist will be responsible for the timely and accurate application of payments to customer accounts across various systems and lines of business. This includes researching and resolving unapplied or unidentified payments, contacting customers regarding short-paid balances, and processing refunds in accordance with company policy. The role involves assisting AR Center employees, partnering with finance teams to resolve GL discrepancies, processing payment movements between systems, and reconciling accounts to correct misapplications. Additionally, the specialist will assist with escheatment processes and credit memo applications.
