Requirements

  • Age – 16 or older
  • Cross-trained to work proficiently in all areas of the store when needed
  • Complies with all Company standards and procedures when handling merchandise, including alcohol, ammunition, narcotics, and high-ticket items
  • Ensures appropriate cash controls, handling as much as $250,000 per day

Responsibilities

  • Drives profitable sales through achievement of sales and profit goals, budget management, sales forecasts; analyzes sales/financial reports, economic trends, and community needs to respond to market changes while controlling expenditures; communicates sales results to associates and guides interpretation
  • Creates operational plans with the Management Team; prioritizes, delegates, and provides clear direction to Managers and Associates; ensures optimal store conditions through merchandise presentation, pricing, and store standards; implements new store programs (specific to Front End, Back End, Fresh, or Operations area) and evaluates effectiveness
  • Executes and monitors asset protection and safety controls; maintains quality assurance standards; oversees safety and operational reviews; ensures compliance with Walmart policies, procedures, and established safety, security, sales, financial, and record-keeping practices; responds to compliance issues including Total Loss/general controls
  • Serves customers by greeting them, seeking feedback, and resolving needs, complaints, and issues within Company guidelines; models, enforces, and provides direction on friendly and helpful customer service to associates
  • Supports store initiatives to serve the community by participating in events, developing relationships with community groups, and engaging in company-sponsored programs, events, and sustainability efforts
  • Leads Associates by conducting regular store meetings, communicating operational direction and initiatives (focus on OMNI and Total Store); drives engagement, recognizes accomplishments, provides professional growth opportunities; develops associates and identifies high-potential talent with training
  • Demonstrates Company values by holding Associates accountable through timely, honest, specific, and respectful performance feedback, corrective, and disciplinary action; builds and manages relationships with supporting functions (e.g., District HR Managers)
  • Supports the Store Manager and manages store operations according to Company guidelines; leads Associates to ensure friendly, helpful service and drive profitable store sales
