Responsibilities

  • Drive profitable sales through achievement of sales and profit goals, budget management, sales forecasts, analysis of sales/financial reports, economic trends, and community needs to respond to market changes while controlling expenditures; communicate sales results to associates and guide interpretation
  • Create operational plans with the Management Team, prioritize, delegate, and provide clear direction to Managers and Associates; ensure optimal store conditions through merchandise presentation, pricing, and standards; implement new store programs in specific area (Front End, Back End, Fresh, or Operations) and evaluate effectiveness; cross-trained to work in all store areas
  • Execute and monitor asset protection, safety controls, quality assurance standards, safety and operational reviews; ensure compliance with Walmart policies, procedures, and practices for safety, security, sales, financial, and record keeping; anticipate and respond to compliance issues including Total Loss/general controls
  • Serve customers by greeting them, seeking feedback, resolving needs/complaints/issues per Company guidelines; model, enforce, and direct associates on friendly customer service
  • Support store initiatives by participating in community events, developing relationships with community groups, and engaging in company-sponsored programs, events, and sustainability efforts
  • Lead Associates through regular store meetings, communicate operational direction and initiatives (focus on OMNI and Total Store); drive engagement, recognize/reward accomplishments, provide professional growth opportunities; develop associates and identify high-potential talent with training
  • Demonstrate Company values by holding Associates accountable with timely, honest, specific, respectful performance feedback, corrective, and disciplinary action; build and manage relationships with supporting functions (e.g., District HR Managers)
  • Comply with Company standards and procedures for handling merchandise (e.g., alcohol, ammunition, narcotics, high-ticket); ensure appropriate cash controls, handling up to $250,000 per day
