Requirements

  • Age – 16 or older
  • Cross-trained to work proficiently in all areas of the store when needed
  • Complies with all Company standards and procedures when handling merchandise, including alcohol, ammunition, narcotics, and high-ticket items
  • Ensures appropriate cash controls, handling up to $250,000 per day

Responsibilities

  • Drives profitable sales through achievement of sales and profit goals, budget management, sales forecasts, analysis of sales/financial reports, economic trends, and community needs; communicates results to associates
  • Creates operational plans with the Management Team, prioritizes, delegates, provides direction; ensures optimal store conditions via merchandise presentation, pricing, and standards; implements and evaluates new store programs in specific area (Front End, Back End, Fresh, or Operations)
  • Executes and monitors asset protection, safety controls, quality assurance; oversees safety and operational reviews; ensures compliance with Walmart policies on safety, security, sales, financial, and record-keeping procedures; responds to compliance issues including Total Loss/general controls
  • Serves customers by greeting them, seeking feedback, resolving needs/complaints/issues; models, enforces, and directs associates on customer service approaches
  • Supports store initiatives by participating in community events, developing relationships with community groups, and engaging in company-sponsored programs, events, and sustainability efforts
  • Leads Associates via regular store meetings, communicates operational direction with focus on OMNI and Total Store; drives engagement, recognizes/rewards accomplishments, provides professional growth opportunities, develops associates, identifies high-potentials for training
  • Demonstrates Company values by holding Associates accountable with timely, honest, specific, respectful performance feedback, corrective, and disciplinary action; builds/manages relationships with supporting functions (e.g., District HR Managers)
  • Supports the Store Manager in managing store operations according to Company guidelines and leading Associates for friendly service and profitable sales
